Jaundice is a common problem among newborns.Most cases of jaundice in newborn resolve with time.But it can also cause serious problems.Newborn jaundice is a yellowing of a baby's skin and eyes.
Cause of Jaundice:
Jaundice may be caused such as an infection, a problem with the baby's digestive system or a problem with the mom and baby's blood types(Rh incompatibility).Your baby may have one of these problems if jaundice appears less than a day after birth.
Precautions Of Jaundice:
If your baby looks jaundiced, your doctor may suggest tests to measure the bilirubin level in her blood.If your baby was born at term and is otherwise healthy, most doctors will not begin treatment,unless the bilirubin level is over 16 milligrams per decilitre of blood but it also depends on the age of the baby.The baby usually lies naked under the lights for a day or two, with her eyes covered by a protective mask.
Anemia can occur when red blood cells are broken down rapidly too much blood is lost, or the bone marrow does not produce enough red blood cells.If a large amount of blood is lost very rapidly, the newborn may be in shock appear pale, have a rapid heart rate, and have low blood pressure along with rapid, shallow breathing.
Causes of Anemia:
Newborn babies don't start to make new red blood cells until they are about 1 month old.As some of the older red blood cells start to break down, your baby may not have enough new red cells to replace them for the first 2 or 3 months of life.This causes a mild type of anemia called physiologic or normal anemia.
Precautions Of Anemia:
Anemia is normal for newborns and does not need to treated unless it causes a problem for the baby or the blood count drops too low.Iron is needed to make red blood cells.Your healthcare provider may recommend that you give your baby iron drop or iron-fortified formula.

vomiting is common health problem among infants.It is normal for infants to spit up milk after feed.But frequent vomiting is not normal.If your child is vomiting and not gaining adequate weight she might need medical intervention.

If your baby is newborn and has even a fever, if your newborn baby is less than one month of age.Bring him to the doctor instead.The doctor might recommend that you give your newborn baby acetaminophen but he will need specify the exact dosage required.When a newborn baby develops a fever associated with infection, it can become a great cause for concern.This is because newborn babies can get sick very fast.

Your baby's diarrhea could be caused by a viral or bacterial infection.It might also be the result of a parasite, a course of antibiotics, or something he ate.Any number of viruses like rotovirus, adenovirus, astrovirus can cause diarrhea.
Precautions Of Diarrhea:
You can prepare ORS at home as well.Take one liter of water, boiled and then cooled.8 teaspoons of sugar and one teaspoon of salt.Give her sips of this mixture every time she vomit and passes stool or urine.you can give your baby sabudana water.Keep giving her water and her usual breastfeeds or full-strength formula feeds,too.Don't give her glucose drink.
